On the night of June 19, Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 140 Ukrainian drones over eight Russian regions, annexed Crimea, and the Azov and Black seas, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The total number of drones involved is unknown, as the ministry reports only those it says were shot down.
Stavropol region Governor Vladimir Vladimirov said the attack caused fires at industrial facilities. He did not specify which sites were affected, saying only that “flammable materials” were detonating there. According to him, there were no deaths or injuries.
The governor said firefighters were dealing with two blazes in the industrial zone of the Vyazniki hamlet in the Shpakovsky district. Local authorities introduced a municipal-level state of emergency and evacuated residents of nearby homes. Another fire was being fought in an industrial area in northern Stavropol near the border with the Shpakovsky district; Vladimirov said residential buildings were not under threat.
Astra, citing its analysis of photos and videos from eyewitnesses, reported that three oil depots in Stavropol and nearby areas may be on fire. According to the outlet, a Rosneft oil depot and another facility linked to two legal entities, OOO Korona and OOO MK-Nefteprodukt, are burning in Vyazniki. Astra also said the Stavropol oil depot owned by Lukoil was on fire.
Kursk region Governor Alexander Khinshtein said drones struck four apartment buildings in Kursk. In one building, apartments on the top three floors were damaged; facades were damaged in two others; and an apartment caught fire in a fourth building. Residents were evacuated, and one person was injured.
In Lgov, the regional head said a bus, a grocery store, and a bus stop were hit. Two people were reported injured there.
