In the United States, federal marshals detained blogger Andrew Tate, known for misogynistic remarks, along with his brother Tristan Tate. According to media reports, they were detained in Miami near the James Knight sports complex, where Andrew Tate, a professional kickboxer, had been due to hold a bare-knuckle fighting event.
The detention was confirmed by the UK Crown Prosecution Service. British authorities said they would seek the brothers’ extradition from the United States. The case concerns allegations of sexualized violence reported by seven complainants.
According to the report, the brothers hold both British and American passports. In the United Kingdom, they have been charged over a number of offenses allegedly committed in 2010–2017.
Those accusations include rape, assault, human trafficking, the distribution of pornography, and indecent images of children. The US Department of Justice confirmed that the Tates were detained “as part of the extradition process.”
A source cited by CNN said the brothers are expected to appear in federal court next week. In addition to the British case, Andrew and Tristan Tate also face charges in Romania.
In June 2026, the brothers traveled to Russia. Among other appearances, they attended the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, where they were greeted with a traditional loaf, folk dancing, and the song “Matushka.”
