The Russian Foreign Ministry has released an official statement regarding recent US missile attacks on Iran's nuclear sites, published on its official website.
Ministry officials condemned Washington's actions as "reckless," stating that "no justification can legitimize such measures."
"Launching missile and bomb attacks against a sovereign nation's territory represents a flagrant breach of international law and the UN Charter, regardless of the reasoning behind it. UN Security Council resolutions have previously and clearly deemed such actions unacceptable. It is especially troubling that these strikes were conducted by a permanent UN Security Council member," the statement read.
The ministry also highlighted concerns over the strikes' negative impact on global nuclear non-proliferation efforts and the standing of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Russian diplomats urged the US to halt its aggressive actions and resume diplomatic negotiations.
