Authorities in Sakhalin have initiated criminal proceedings following the fatal incident involving a newly enlisted soldier who died within four days of joining the military.

Russian authorities have launched a criminal investigation following the death of conscript Danila Minyailo, 19, at a military base in Sakhalin Oblast. According to RBC's report citing regional officials, the case has been filed under criminal negligence statutes resulting in fatal consequences (Criminal Code Article 293, Part 2). The 318th Garrison Military Prosecutor's Office has commenced its review of the incident.
