In Russia, the investigation into the crash of the AZAL airline plane in Aktau has been terminated.

Azerbaijan has expressed "serious surprise" at the decision of the Russian authorities to terminate the criminal case regarding the crash of the AZAL airline plane. As stated by the country's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, official Baku received a corresponding notification from Moscow about the closure of the case. This information was confirmed by the head of the foreign policy department.
