Azerbaijan is compiling legal documents to take Russia to international courts over the downing of an AZAL passenger plane near Aktau, Kazakhstan. President Ilham Aliyev confirmed this course of action.
He described the circumstances of the crash as "completely transparent," criticizing Russia's response. "Despite repeated requests from Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General to Russia's Investigative Committee, we only receive the same reply: 'the investigation continues.' This approach is unacceptable," Aliyev stated.
The Azerbaijani government insists that Russia must acknowledge responsibility, prosecute those responsible for the attack, provide compensation to victims' families, and reimburse AZAL for the destroyed aircraft.
