Radio Echo GmbH, the owner of the online platform Echo and its associated internet radio service, has been designated as an "undesirable organization" by authorities. This classification appears on the official website of the Justice Ministry.
Official records indicate the ruling was issued on June 3.
The Echo platform emerged following the shutdown of Ekho Moskvy radio station by Russian authorities in March 2022 during the initial phase of the military conflict. Established by former Ekho Moskvy journalists, the outlet is currently led by media professional Maxim Kurnikov.
The updated register also includes the American scholarly organization "Association for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies" among its listings.
