Israeli airline El Al Airlines, the country’s largest national carrier, has temporarily suspended flights to Moscow. The information was given to RBC by the press service of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia.
According to preliminary information, the carrier canceled three flights on the Tel Aviv-Moscow route scheduled for June 25, 28, and 29. ATOR said ticket sales may resume no earlier than July.
An El Al spokesperson told Reuters that the decision was related to developments in the situation between Russia and Ukraine, as well as recent aviation incidents in the region.
The company plans to review the situation next week and may then decide whether to resume the flights.
Passengers on the canceled flights will be offered alternative travel options, according to the reports.
ATOR also said that direct air service between Israel and Russia remains in place, with Russian carriers continuing to operate flights.
