Hamas fighters have responded "in a positive manner" to the U.S.-backed ceasefire proposal for Gaza and expressed willingness to discuss its implementation, according to Reuters.

A statement indicated that "the movement has delivered its constructive reply to mediators. Hamas is prepared to engage earnestly in fresh talks regarding the practical steps for executing this framework agreement."

However, as the BBC noted, Hamas stopped short of confirming full acceptance of Washington's terms. Earlier reports indicated Israel had approved the 60-day truce plan, as mentioned by Trump.

A source from *The Times of Israel* revealed that Hamas' response included three key objections, which may complicate negotiations.

Under the U.S. proposal, Hamas would release 10 living Israeli hostages—eight on the first day of the ceasefire and two more by day 50. Additionally, the remains of 18 deceased hostages would be returned in phases, *Haaretz* reported. In return, Israel would suspend all military operations and reposition its forces to southern Gaza following the exchanges.
