Multiple Russian soldiers involved in Operation Potok in the Kursk region, who infiltrated Sudzha via a gas pipeline, have developed lung cancer, according to Z-blogger Anastasia Kashevarova.
She reported that several other troops who entered the pipeline have since died. The propagandist states that hospitalized servicemen were diagnosed with "moderate acute bronchitis" and received compensation of 100,000 rubles each.
Kashevarova notes that military officials refuse to classify the condition as serious or combat-related, denying soldiers entitled benefits. Additionally, none of the Operation Potok participants received any commendations.
"What was the purpose of this? Why was the pipeline approved? Why did they volunteer? What are you doing? Who in the General Staff opposes recognizing and compensating Potok fighters—are they willing to set an example by spending a few days in that gas pipeline themselves?" the blogger wrote.
In March, Russian officials claimed that armed forces personnel entered the town of Sudzha through the "Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgorod" gas pipeline to attack Ukrainian positions. Days later, Russia's Defense Ministry announced the town's liberation.
