Moldova's electoral authorities have barred the Victory bloc from participating in the upcoming parliamentary elections on September 28, according to reports from Point news outlet.

Officials cited irregularities in the submitted paperwork and failure to meet electoral regulations as reasons for the rejection. Specifically, bloc leaders and members allegedly neglected to provide mandatory financial reports detailing expenses from their Moscow trips.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) stated, "Conducting a political congress abroad without oversight from election authorities, with backing from foreign entities, raises legitimate concerns about unlawful funding—a violation of domestic law."

Formed in Moscow in April 2024, the Victory Bloc is a pro-Russian opposition alliance. Its founder, fugitive oligarch Ilan Shor, faces a 15-year prison sentence in Moldova but currently resides in Russia. The group advocates against Moldova's Western alignment, instead promoting Eurasian integration, EAEU membership, and closer ties with Russia.
