The festive Russia Day concert that had been planned for Red Square in Moscow this year has been canceled, Msk1 reports without citing sources. According to the outlet, the venue was moved to the Mossovet cultural center on Preobrazhenskaya Square. The list of announced performers was also reduced.
Details. As Msk1 writes, the day before, Nadezhda Babkina’s team announced a large concert titled “In the Unity of Peoples Lies the Strength of Russia,” scheduled for June 12 on Red Square. In addition to Babkina, the bill included SHAMAN, Larisa Dolina, Tatyana Kurtukova, Alexander Buynov, and the group Ay Yola.
Later, according to Msk1, it became known that the event had been moved to the Mossovet cultural center on Preobrazhenskaya Square. The program was significantly shortened, although Nadezhda Babkina’s participation in the revised format is confirmed.
The reasons for these changes have not been disclosed. The final lineup has also not been announced. Moscow authorities have not yet commented on this information.
Events on Red Square. Russia Day concerts on Red Square in Moscow are held every year. In recent years, the stage has featured SHAMAN, Nikolai Baskov, Grigory Leps, Oleg Gazmanov, Polina Gagarina, Tatyana Kurtukova, Sergey Lazarev, Dima Bilan, and other performers.
In 2026, the Victory Day parade was held on Red Square without military equipment for the first time in 19 years. This was explained by the unsafe situation amid Ukrainian attacks.
At the same time, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that over the past day, nearly 80 Ukrainian drones had attempted to attack the capital region. According to him, all strikes were repelled.
At the same time, as Meduza notes, large-scale events are still being held on Red Square. For example, a book festival took place there from June 4 to June 7.
