Renowned Russian actress Valentina Talyzina, honored as a People's Artist of Russia, has passed away at 90, according to an announcement from Moscow's Mossovet Theater.
The theater's statement read: "The Mossovet Theater team extends heartfelt sympathies to Valentina Illarionovna's loved ones. Her death represents an immense loss for Russian culture and our theater community."
Details regarding memorial arrangements will be shared later. Reports from Shot indicate she succumbed to cancer.
Talyzina starred in numerous iconic films, including *The Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!*, *Zigzag of Fortune*, *Old Men-Robbers*, and *A Railway Station for Two*.
In 2014, she publicly endorsed Russia's annexation of Crimea and later supported the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, describing it as "entirely justified." She also faced criticism for anti-Semitic remarks about performers Alla Pugacheva and Liya Akhedzhakova, accusing them of concealing Jewish heritage.
