One of Russia’s largest oil refining and petrochemical complexes, Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat in Bashkortostan, has suspended operations after a drone attack. Reuters reported this on July 15, 2026, citing two industry sources.
According to the agency’s sources, the Ukrainian strike damaged crude oil and gas condensate primary processing units at the facility, as well as several secondary units and other equipment.
Reuters said the affected units include ELOU-AVT-6 and ELOU-AVT-4. Together, they can process up to 28,570 tons of hydrocarbon feedstock per day.
The sources added that repairs to the damaged equipment could take from several weeks to several months.
The Ukrainian drone attack on the plant took place on the night of July 14. Afterward, Bashkortostan head Radiy Khabirov said the complex’s “main facilities” had not been damaged and suggested that restoring the plant would take several days.
According to Reuters’ account, the scale of the damage may be more serious than earlier official statements by the regional authorities suggested.
