A French court has detained Russian basketball player Daniil Kasatkin over alleged ties to a cybercrime organization specializing in extortion schemes, as reported by Agence France-Presse (AFP).
Sources indicate authorities apprehended the athlete on June 21 at Paris's Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport, where he had arrived with his fiancée. Following initial questioning, Kasatkin was formally placed under arrest two days later on June 23.
