On July 18, Russian forces launched an assault on Ukraine using 35 combat drones. Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted 11 of these drones, while six others were either disabled or lost track of, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
In Dnipropetrovsk region's Pavlogradsky district, the strikes claimed the life of a 52-year-old train driver. Two others sustained injuries and received on-site medical treatment, as confirmed by regional military administration head Serhiy Lysak. The attack also caused damage to a transportation company.
Meanwhile, in Zaporizhzhia region's Stepnogorsk district, a man died after being struck by precision-guided aerial bombs. Several homes caught fire, according to local military administration chief Ivan Fedorov.
In Chuhuiv, Kharkiv region, at least four people were wounded, Mayor Halyna Minayeva reported. The strikes damaged residential buildings and an educational facility.
That same night, Russian air defenses intercepted multiple Ukrainian drones across several regions. The Russian Defense Ministry stated that 73 drones were destroyed. Near Moscow, 10 unmanned aerial vehicles were downed, and the industrial city of Dzerzhinsk in Nizhny Novgorod region also came under attack. No casualties were reported in these incidents.
