Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have reached a peace deal facilitated by the United States, according to reports from the BBC and Associated Press.

The agreement commits both nations to honoring each other's borders and ending hostilities in eastern DRC, where clashes erupted following the M23 rebel group's offensive. As part of the arrangement, the U.S. secured mining concessions within Congolese territory. Further specifics of the pact remain undisclosed.
