Telegram founder Pavel Durov said the messenger had carried out an “update of its protocols” to bypass blocking in Russia. He wrote about this on his channel.
“Users in Russia are advised to update their apps to stay connected despite the ban,” he wrote.
According to him, the Telegram team will continue to “improve decentralized anti-censorship technology.” Telegram use in Russia remained stable over the past week despite a full ban, Durov said.
“A few more tips: stock up on several VPNs/proxies in advance, help your friends and relatives do the same, and avoid using Russian apps when connecting to a VPN,” the entrepreneur wrote.
