After Ukrainian drone strikes on Wildberries logistics centers in the Moscow and Tambov regions, the company may have lost 10–15% of its total warehouse space. That estimate was cited by The Bell, referring to a source familiar with the situation inside the company.
The source told the outlet that this does not mean the marketplace’s operations will be fully paralyzed. Still, the damage could cause a serious overload in logistics on the Moscow market, which remains Wildberries’ largest.
According to Meduza, on the night of July 18, Ukrainian drones struck Wildberries logistics facilities in Elektrostal in the Moscow region and in the city of Kotovsk in the Tambov region. The attack killed eight people, while dozens more were injured.
As of publication, there was no official information on the extent of the damage to the warehouses themselves. The estimate of 10–15% was based on information from The Bell’s source familiar with the company’s internal situation.
Wildberries chief executive Tatyana Kim said the company is working through the issue of payments to sellers who lost goods as a result of the drone strike. At the same time, she noted that the marketplace is not obligated to compensate for lost merchandise.
