The body of Nikolai Chesnokov, rector of the Moscow State Academy of Physical Culture (MSAPC), was discovered inside the head of Volgograd's 85-meter "Motherland Calls!" monument. According to reports by V1.RU, Mash, Baza, and SHOT, the academic official fell ill while visiting the top of the iconic sculpture.
Witnesses stated that Chesnokov's colleagues attempted to assist him but were unsuccessful. While Baza attributes his death to a heart attack, SHOT suggests a blood clot may have been the cause.
