The Moscow Regional Arbitration Court has ruled in favor of the Prosecutor General's Office, ordering the transfer of DME Holding's assets to state ownership. DME Holding controls the operating companies of Domodedovo Airport, as reported by Kommersant.
The court reached its decision during the initial hearing and mandated immediate enforcement.
As noted by Nova-Europe, this nationalization of Domodedovo Airport—valued at 320 billion rubles—ranks among the most significant business seizures this year.
Anti-corruption specialist Ilya Shumanov remarked on the asset seizure, stating, "They're now targeting what was once considered untouchable, proving that nothing is truly off-limits anymore."
The Prosecutor General's Office alleges that the corporate group was under foreign influence. Authorities claim that airport owner Dmitry Kamenshchik and former board chairman Valery Kogan "pursued an aggressive policy aligned with Western states, aiming to strategically weaken Russia by harming its economy."
Under Russian legislation, airports are classified as strategic enterprises, requiring government commission approval for foreign investment. Investigators assert that Kamenshchik and Kogan failed to seek this necessary authorization.
