The Moscow Prosecutor's Office has launched criminal proceedings against journalist and blogger Yury Dud under charges of failing to comply with "foreign agent" labeling requirements, according to the agency's Telegram channel.

Authorities allege that Dud published content without properly marking it with the mandated "foreign agent" designation. The journalist had already faced two administrative fines for similar violations within a year, which could now lead to criminal charges.

Dud was added to Russia's "foreign agent" registry by the Ministry of Justice on April 15, 2022. In March 2024, he ceased including the required label on his materials and reportedly urged foreign businesses to purchase advertising from him.

In May 2025, a court ordered Dud and designer Artemy Lebedev to delete an interview segment where Lebedev used offensive language toward Yekaterina Mizulina, ruling the remarks damaged her reputation. The court imposed fines of 300,000 rubles on Lebedev and 200,000 rubles on Dud.
