British singer Bonnie Tyler has died at the age of 75, the BBC reported, citing a statement from her family.
According to the report, the artist was urgently hospitalized in Portugal last month, where she underwent bowel surgery. She was then placed in an induced coma.
Tyler’s family said that more details about what happened would be released later.
Bonnie Tyler was the stage name of Welsh singer Gaynor Hopkins, one of the most recognizable pop-rock vocalists of the late 1970s and 1980s.
She was best known for the songs Total Eclipse of the Heart, Holding Out for a Hero, It’s a Heartache, Lost in France, and More Than a Lover.
