Wildberries chief executive Tatyana Kim announced support measures after strikes on the company’s warehouses in the Tambov and Moscow regions. According to her, the families of those killed will receive 2 million rubles each, while those seriously injured will be paid 1 million rubles each.
The company is also said to be working out compensation for sellers, along with other forms of financial assistance. The report notes, however, that the marketplace has no direct legal obligation to make such payments.
According to the latest data, eight people were killed and more than 50 were injured in the attacks. The company’s warehouse infrastructure sustained the main damage.
In early July, Wildberries changed its offer agreement. Under the new version, which took effect on July 7, the platform removed its responsibility for reimbursing goods destroyed by military equipment, including drones.
A source close to the company told The Bell that Wildberries will either have to compensate sellers for their losses or risk seeing them leave the platform.
According to Vazhnye Istorii, by midday the company’s largest logistics hub had burned out completely. Taking into account warehouse capacity in Elektrostal, the damage from the fire caused by today’s strikes could exceed 100 billion rubles.
The full scale of the losses at the Tambov region site remains unclear, although the fire there has already been extinguished. A source close to the company told The Bell that 10–15% of all Wildberries warehouse space was affected. The outlet says this could completely paralyze the marketplace’s operations and place severe strain on logistics, especially in the Moscow market.
