On July 23, marketplace operator Wildberries plans to resume operations at its warehouse in Kotovsk, Tambov region, which was damaged during a Ukrainian drone attack on the night of July 18.
The announcement was made on Telegram by the company’s founder, Tatyana Kim. According to her, once the assessment of the logistics complex is completed, the facility will begin accepting deliveries again, and the goods that had been stored there will return to sale.
“On July 23, after the assessment of the condition of the logistics complex in Kotovsk is completed, the warehouse will again be able to accept deliveries. The goods that were stored there will return to sale,” Tatyana Kim wrote.
Kim also said that Wildberries will soon display on its seller portal the goods that had been stored at the second warehouse hit in the attack, in Elektrostal. She did not specify whether that facility would also reopen.
The entrepreneur said the company sees many questions about payments for damaged goods in Elektrostal and will not leave sellers alone with this problem. She added that she had previously warned that time was needed to assess the consequences and had already instructed her team to speed up the process so that an updated status could be provided soon.
According to the report, the strike on Wildberries warehouses in Kotovsk and Elektrostal left eight people dead and about 80 injured. Preliminary estimates put the damage from the attack at more than 50 billion rubles.
The marketplace had previously said it was not obliged to compensate sellers for lost goods, though it offered them other support measures.
