Wildberries is considering possible payouts to sellers whose goods were lost after Ukrainian drones struck the marketplace’s warehouses in the Moscow and Tambov regions. This was announced by the company’s head, Tatyana Kim.
According to her, the marketplace will pay two million rubles to the families of those killed. Those injured and now in serious condition will receive one million rubles each.
“Our partners are also concerned about compensation for goods stored at our facilities. Despite the emergency situation and the absence of any obligation to compensate for lost goods, we are already working out the scale of payouts to sellers and other financial support measures,” Tatyana Kim said.
She added that detailed information on the payouts, additional support measures, and the procedure for receiving them will be published on the seller portal.
The report notes that in early July, Wildberries added a clause to its contracts with sellers releasing the marketplace from liability for failure to fulfill obligations in the event of drone attacks.
The company therefore says it has no formal obligation to reimburse the value of the lost goods, while at the same time stating that possible financial assistance for sellers is now being worked out separately.
