On June 26, traffic on the M-11 highway near Vladimir Putin’s residence in Valdai was blocked, according to the Telegram channel Ostorozhno, Novosti.
According to that report, traffic was stopped at about 10:00 a.m. Moscow time. A traffic jam formed near the village of Kolomno in the Tver region.
Witnesses said traffic police halted traffic on the toll highway in both directions and did not explain the reasons for their actions.
The outlet Agentstvo, citing Google Maps data, reported that the road was blocked for several dozen kilometers near Putin’s residence. According to that information, the restriction affected a stretch of about 90 kilometers and was expected to remain in place until 5:00 p.m.
At the same time, the Russian services Yandex Maps and 2Gis did not show the closure itself, although they also reported congestion on the route.
The report also mentions an investigation by the outlet Proekt published in 2023. It said that a house belonging to Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva is located near Putin’s Valdai residence; she is alleged to be the mother of the Russian president’s three children.
