A Ukrainian missile strike on an industrial site in Volgograd left one person dead and 11 others injured, according to Volgograd region governor Andrei Bocharov.
He said the victim was an employee of the affected plant. The body was found at the impact site during cleanup operations. Rescue teams are also continuing the search for another worker from the enterprise.
Bocharov added that all 11 injured people were taken to hospitals, with two in serious condition.
Earlier, the governor said Volgograd had repelled an attack by “high-speed airborne targets.” At that stage, he reported that production facilities at one enterprise in the Krasnooktyabrsky district had been damaged, without naming it directly.
Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the Armed Forces of Ukraine had struck the Titan-Barrikady plant with Flamingo missiles. The same claim was made by Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister adviser Serhii Sternenko and by Ukrainian monitoring channels.
Astra said it had confirmed the target of the strike using footage from the attack. Meanwhile, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that over the past day it had shot down 511 Ukrainian drones and three Flamingo missiles.
