In Tver, one of the storage tanks at the Tverskaya Oil Depot caught fire after a drone attack, according to Tver region governor Vitaly Korolev. He said firefighters managed to contain the blaze and that, according to preliminary information, there were no casualties among local residents or depot staff.
The outlet Astra reported that the depot is a subsidiary of Surgutneftegaz. According to the publication, the facility supplies fuel to its own network of 52 gas stations and handles wholesale deliveries across the Tver region. Photos published before the strike, Astra noted, appeared to show anti-drone netting installed at the site.
In the Stavropol region, governor Vladimir Vladimirov said a fire broke out at an industrial site in the hamlet of Vyazniki following a Ukrainian drone attack. He initially said there was no risk to nearby homes, but later уточнил that the fire had intensified and spread to tanks containing flammable materials.
Residents of nearby houses were then evacuated. According to preliminary reports, no one was injured. Astra also said that an oil depot was burning in the region. At first, Astra and the Ukrainian monitoring Telegram channel Exilenova+, citing eyewitness photos and videos, reported a fire at the Lukoil-Yugnefteprodukt oil depot in Mikhaylovsk, about one kilometer from the facility in Vyazniki, but later clarified that the burning site was the depot in Vyazniki.
Rostov region governor Yury Slyusar said that in the Taganrog Bay, Ukrainian drones attacked two tankers for the second day in a row. The vessels were damaged and fires broke out on board. He said there were no casualties and the crews were evacuated.
At the same time, the Russian-installed head of the Kherson region administration, Vladimir Saldo, said all districts in the territory controlled by Russian forces were fully or partially left without electricity. He said Ukrainian forces were using drones to strike electrical substations and other infrastructure facilities.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that by the morning of July 9, air defense forces had intercepted and destroyed 73 Ukrainian drones over 11 Russian regions, annexed Crimea, and the Sea of Azov.
